Týr

Týr é uma banda das ilhas faroe que toca uma combinação de Heavy Metal e música folk com fortes influências de metal progressivo, seus assuntos envolvem principalmente lendas nórdicas, história e mitologia, seu nome veio do deus das batalhas nórdico.
A banda foi formada em 1998. Heri Joensen encontrou seu velho parceiro de banda Kári Streymoy numa festa em Copenhague na Dinamarca. Joensen sugeriou que eles deviam se reunir e tocar juntos, e Streymoy apesar de ter recusado a princípio, mais tarde aceitou a oferta.
Eles foram logo reunidos com outro antigo companheiro de banda, o baixista Gunnar H. Thomsen, eles começaram a fazer músicas fortemente inspiradas na mitologia nórdica, na música tradicional faroense e heavy metal em geral.
O nome da banda veio do deus nórdico Týr. Antes de Týr, Joensen e Thomsen haviam formado sua primeira banda quando possuíam dezessete anos e haviam chamado-a de "Cruiser". Streymoy também havia tocado com eles por um curto período. Eles mais tarde mudaram seu nome para "Wolfgang".
Týr foi uma parte da Paganfest tour na Europa e nos USA em 2008, encabeçada por Ensiferum, e em 2009 a banda participou da "Black Sails Over Europe" apoiando Alestorm que estava divulgando seu novo albúm Black Sails at Midnight.

Alestorm

O Alestorm é uma banda de Folk/Power Metal formada em 2004 em Perth, Escócia com o nome de Battleheart, pelo fato de suas músicas terem sempre a temática pirata a banda se auto-intitula "True Scotish Pirate Metal" (uma piada com o True Norwegian Black Metal), a banda orginalmente era formada por três integrantes: Gavin Harper, Stacy Shipman e Cristopher Bowes, e gravaram seu primeiro EP independente "Battleheart" em 2006. Logo após, os integrantes Dani Evans e Doug Swierczek entraram, e a banda fez seu primeiro show cinco dias depois da entrada dos novos membros.
No mesmo ano de 2006 é gravado seu segundo EP, intitulado "Terror on the High Seas", e uma das músicas de seu EP (Set Sail and Conquer) foi colocada no CD "Battle Metal V" da revista de Heavy Metal Européia "Metal Hammer".
Em 2007, Doug Swierczek deixa a banda e é substituído por Ian Wilson, a banda então assina com a Napalm Records e muda seu nome para "Alestorm", para se diferenciar da banda "Battlelore" que também era da mesma gravadora.
Em 2008 sai o debut da banda: "Capitain Morgan's Revenge" que tem a faixa homônima colocada no CD "Battle Metal VI", ainda em 2008 é colocado para download o single "Heavy Metal Pirates", e em setembro do mesmo ano o guitarrista Gavin Harper deixa a banda, sendo substituido por Dani Evans que troca o baixo pela guitarra, e o baixo é assumido por Garreth Murdock.
Em 2009 é lançado seu segundo disco: "Black Sails at Midnight".

Equilibrium

Equilibrium é uma banda de Folk/Viking Metal com elementos de Symphonic Black Metal, surgida em 2003, suas músicas misturam elementos tradicionais da música foclórica alemã com o som de guitarras e bateria e um poderoso vocal. Suas letras tratam de lendas e mitologia e contos alemães folclóricos. Estrearam em 2003 com seu albúm "Demo 2003" e seguem na ativa até hoje.

Skyclad (albúns de estudio)

Skyclad é uma banda britânica de heavy metal que tem fortes influências da música folk, sendo vistos como os pais do Folk Metal, o nome "Skyclad" vêm de um ritual pagão de nudez em que os participantes metaforicamente se vestem unicamente com o céu, como um sinal de igualdade.
Formada em 1990 pelo ex-vocalista do Sabat Martin Walkyier e o guitarrista do Satan/Pariah Steve Ramsey, o objetivo dos dois era formar a "banda derradeira de metal pagão" pensando até em adotar roupas como as de Robin Hood, mas logo desistiram dessa idéia (felizmente), completando o grupo com outro ex-integrante do Pariah, o baixista Graem English e o baterista Keith Baxter, lançaram em 1991 o disco "The Wayward Sons of Mother Earth", em 1992 após uma turnê com o Overkill, a banda lança "A Burnt Offering for the Bone Idol", em que houve a adição de Fritha Jenkins como violinista e tecladista, e o segundo guitarrista Dave Pugh, Seguiram "Jonah's Ark" em 1993 e "Prince of the Poverty Line" em 1994, este tendo Cath Howell substituindo Fritha Jenkins.
Howell retornou a seus estudos e foi substituida por Georgina Biddle em 1995 com "The Silent Whales of Lunar Sea", nesse ano Baxter e Pugh deixaram a banda durante as gravações de "Irrational Anthems", que foi lançado no começo do ano seguinte.
"Oui Avant-Garde á Chance" foi gravado no espaço de um ano, em 1997 "The Answer Machine" foi lançado e a banda ainda não tinha um baterista permanente, até que Jay Graham e o guitarrista Kevin Riddley foram incluídos em 1998, participando da gravação de "Vintage Whine" de 1999.
O lineup continuou para a gravação de "Folkémon" em 2000 (sim, vocês leram certo, é Folkémon mesmo), mas em 2001 o fundador Walkyier deixou a banda, alegando diversos motivos, entre eles dificuldades financeiras, e a rejeição da banda em excursionar pela América do Sul, embora outros membros tenham dito que sua personalidade ácida era um dos motivos para a instabilidade da formação da banda, isso gerou um certo temor, já que as letras e estilo de Walkyier eram um dos principais atrativos da banda, e houve receio de que a banda acabaria, mas após substituírem Jay Graham (que deixara a banda pouco depois de Walkyier) por Arron Walton, e Kevin Riddley ter assumido os vocais, o grupo lançou em 2002 "No Daylights... Nor Heel Taps" para aplacar esses medos dos fãs.
Depois de algumas disputas entre Walkyier e outros membros da banda sobre direitos e royalties por suas letras e o lançamento de faixas com sua participação. O disco de 2004 "A Semblance of Normalty" marca o primeiro material pós-Walkyier da banda, mantendo grande parte do estilo dos lançamentos anteriores, e as letras de Ridley num esforço para manter os temas e estilo das de Walkyier enquanto mantémsua identidade, este foi provavelmente o albúm mais abertamente recebido, devido a sua ampla distribuição.
Em 2009 foi lançado o albúm "In The... All Together".
